Our new SC-1000 solution enables you to achieve compression and encryption for your data, but without the severe penalty of a software solution. This solution consists of a hardware card that is easily installed into the PCI-X slot of your workstation or PC. The card both compresses and encrypts data using two hardware based engines that work in tandem, resulting in significantly faster performance than is possible with software solutions that tie up your system resources.
While the compress engine implements real-time data compression for disk-to-disk backup, the secure engine implements the AES algorithm in ECB mode with a 128-bit block size and variable key size changeable on a per block basis. Key sizes supported are 128 and 256-bit.
Installation is easy – about 3 minutes to insert the card.
A faster bus interface is also provided to avoid system level bottlenecks. SC-1000 is ideal for customers of Olixir’s FastRestore SE and Enterprise systems, as a way to achieve more capacity, faster performance, security, without the downtime penalty of software.
